Manufacturing / Immersive training

Practise the task.
Before the shift.

VR training and AR guidance built around your equipment, procedures and people. Give manufacturing teams a place to rehearse the work before supervised practice on site.

Built around the job

Start with the moment
people find difficult.

A diagram that is hard to relate to the machine. A sequence that needs repeated practice. A decision that is difficult to rehearse during a working shift. These are useful starting points for an immersive training brief.

We work from your approved materials and subject expertise to shape the scenario, feedback and delivery format. The aim is a defined learning experience that your team can review and evaluate.

Training scenarios

Make the practice specific.

Four starting points to scope with your operations and learning teams.

01

Equipment familiarisation

Help new starters recognise components, controls and the layout of a work area before supervised practice. Build the experience around your equipment and approved terminology.

02

Assembly and changeovers

Rehearse a defined sequence, identify the right parts and practise decisions when something does not match. Use a simulation for rehearsal or assess AR guidance alongside the real task.

03

Hazard recognition

Explore a controlled virtual scenario and discuss the cues a learner notices or misses. Your subject experts define the situations, feedback and boundaries of the exercise.

04

Maintenance preparation

Introduce equipment layout, inspection locations and escalation decisions. Connect the learning to your approved procedures and the supervision required on site.

Choose the right format

One task. The right way to practise it.

VR simulation

Recreate the setting and interactions when learners need spatial context, repeatable decisions and feedback away from the live task.

AR guidance

Assess whether visual references alongside real equipment can make an approved instruction clearer. Validate devices, tracking and working conditions.

Desktop practice

Use a screen-based experience where accessibility, hardware availability or the learning objective makes it the more practical option.

Relevant project experience

Human motion.
Industrial simulation.

MOSIM research programme

The wider Mimic Productions team's MOSIM contribution included motion capture of industrial actions, avatar production and modular motion units for simulation. It provides relevant production experience for discussing human activity in virtual industrial environments.

Each manufacturing training project still needs its own procedure review, learning design and evaluation.

From brief to pilot

A useful first step has a clear scope.

  1. Define the task

Choose one procedure, learner group and equipment variant. Name the subject expert and agree what successful practice should demonstrate.

  2. Review a prototype

Test the interaction, terminology and delivery format with representative users. Resolve unclear steps before expanding production.

  3. Evaluate and plan

Review the agreed learning measures, practical constraints and support needs. Use the findings to decide what should happen next.
